On November 19, 2012, Intel announced that its president and CEO Paul Otellini had decided to retire at the company's annual general meeting in May 2013, when he would resign from his managerial position and directorship. On October 2, 2017, Intel announced that former CEO Paul Otellini died in his sleep at the age of 66.
